Terms of Service – Mr. Miranda Online

Last updated: July 10th 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Mr. Miranda Online.

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the Mr. Miranda Online website, courses, resources, community areas, subscription offers, digital content, third-party integrations, live sessions and related educational services.

By accessing the platform, creating an account, enrolling in an offer, making a purchase, joining a course, participating in a community area or using any part of the service, you agree to these Terms.

Where the student is under 18, the parent or legal guardian who authorises the enrolment or purchase also agrees to these Terms and accepts responsibility for the student’s use of the platform.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the platform.

Nothing in these Terms removes or restricts any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable law.

2. About Mr. Miranda Online

Mr. Miranda Online is operated by Sérgio Miranda.

Trading name: Mr. Miranda Online
Operator: Sérgio Miranda
Business address: Rua Sá de Miranda, 151, 4730-787 Vila Verde, Portugal
Portuguese tax identification number: 222424451
Email: [email protected]

Mr. Miranda Online is an online educational platform supporting students preparing for Cambridge International Education IGCSE and A-Level Physics and Mathematics examinations.

The platform may provide structured educational content, video lessons, solved examination questions, notes, revision materials, online practice, community access, third-party educational tools and, where included in the selected offer, live teaching, marking, feedback, progress monitoring or personalised support.

Mr. Miranda Online is not a school, examination centre, university admissions service or official representative of Cambridge International Education.

“Cambridge International,” “Cambridge International Education,” “IGCSE” and related names and marks belong to their respective owners. Their use describes the qualifications and syllabuses supported by the platform and does not imply endorsement or affiliation.

3. Definitions

For these Terms:

  • Platform means the Mr. Miranda Online website, courses, dashboards, community areas, digital resources and related services.

  • User means any person accessing or using the platform.

  • Student means the learner for whose benefit an account or service is used.

  • Account holder means the person who creates, controls or pays for an account or subscription.

  • Parent or guardian means a parent, legal guardian or other adult authorised to act for a student under 18.

  • Offer means a free or paid course, subscription, membership, support package or other product made available by Mr. Miranda Online.

  • Paid period means the billing period for which payment has been successfully received.

  • Digital content means videos, PDFs, notes, questions, recordings, downloads, interactive materials and other content supplied digitally.

  • Live support means scheduled live lessons, calls, workshops, office hours, marking, feedback or other human-delivered support included in a particular offer.

  • Active support week means a week during which normal live and asynchronous support services are operating, excluding scheduled annual service breaks and any other closure expressly disclosed in advance.

4. Eligibility and Students Under 18

A person making a purchase must be at least 18 years old or otherwise have legal capacity to enter into the contract.

Students under 18 may use the platform only with the knowledge and authorisation of a parent or legal guardian.

Where an account or subscription is used by a student under 18:

  • the parent or guardian is responsible for approving the enrolment;

  • the parent or guardian is responsible for payments and subscription management;

  • the parent or guardian must ensure that the student follows these Terms;

  • Mr. Miranda Online may communicate with the parent or guardian regarding the student’s participation, conduct, progress, submitted work or use of the service; and

  • the parent or guardian must provide accurate and appropriate contact information.

Mr. Miranda Online may request confirmation of parental or guardian authorisation where reasonably necessary.

5. Who the Platform Is For

Mr. Miranda Online is designed primarily for students preparing for Cambridge International IGCSE and A-Level Mathematics and Physics examinations.

The platform may also be useful to students following other educational systems. However, responsibility for checking compatibility with a non-Cambridge syllabus, examination route, school requirement, university application or national equivalence system rests with the student and parent or guardian.

Mr. Miranda Online does not guarantee that its courses satisfy the requirements of any school, examination centre, university, government authority or national education system outside the qualifications expressly identified in the relevant offer.

6. Description of Services

Depending on the selected offer, Mr. Miranda Online may include:

  • video lessons;

  • solved examination questions;

  • lesson notes;

  • revision summaries;

  • formula and definition lists;

  • end-of-chapter questions;

  • online practice resources;

  • community access;

  • periodic challenges;

  • examination-technique support;

  • digital textbook access;

  • physical textbooks or learning materials;

  • third-party educational platform access;

  • live or recorded support sessions;

  • marked work or assessments;

  • progress monitoring;

  • reports;

  • private or group guidance; and

  • other educational resources described on the relevant offer page.

The exact content, subjects, duration, access period, support level and features included in an offer are those stated on the relevant offer page, checkout page or written enrolment agreement at the time of purchase.

General descriptions, examples, promotional materials or previews do not create an entitlement to features that are not included in the selected offer.

Where a specific written agreement or checkout description conflicts with these general Terms, the more specific provision will normally apply, subject to mandatory law.

7. ACCESS Tier

The ACCESS tier is currently provided free of charge.

Enrolment in ACCESS grants personal access to the included ACCESS courses and resources for 730 consecutive days from the date of enrolment, unless a different period is stated at enrolment.

ACCESS may focus on selected Cambridge International Mathematics or Physics components, subject to the availability of each course and the published operational timeline.

ACCESS may include:

  • video lessons;

  • solved examination questions;

  • selected notes;

  • revision resources;

  • formula or definition sheets; and

  • other materials expressly made available within ACCESS.

ACCESS is a self-directed resource tier and does not include individual teaching, marking, personalised feedback, guaranteed responses, private support or live lessons unless expressly stated.

Access is personal, non-transferable and linked to the student’s account. Login details must not be shared.

At the end of the access period, access expires automatically unless extended by Mr. Miranda Online.

Mr. Miranda Online may update, improve, expand, correct, reorganise or replace ACCESS materials. Free content may also be withdrawn where reasonably necessary, provided that changes are not made in a manner contrary to applicable law.

8. Optional Contributions

ACCESS is free.

Where a “buy me a coffee,” voluntary contribution or similar option is available, the contribution is entirely optional and does not affect access to the free tier.

A voluntary contribution supports the time, work and resources invested in creating the platform. It does not create additional service entitlements, support rights or access beyond those expressly stated at the time of contribution.

A contribution is not treated as payment for personalised teaching or support unless explicitly described otherwise.

9. ACCESS PRO and ACCESS ULTRA

Mr. Miranda Online may offer paid subscription tiers, including ACCESS PRO and ACCESS ULTRA.

Depending on the selected offer, paid tiers may include:

  • structured course pathways;

  • extended notes and resources;

  • end-of-chapter questions;

  • digital or physical textbooks;

  • third-party educational platform access;

  • community participation;

  • workshops;

  • examination-technique support;

  • marked work;

  • group lessons;

  • progress reports; or

  • other features described on the relevant offer page.

The price, subjects, billing period, included resources, support level and other features are those displayed at checkout at the time of purchase.

References to weekly calls, lessons, marking, feedback or support mean weekly provision during active support weeks, unless the relevant offer expressly states otherwise. Scheduled annual service breaks are excluded.

Access to platform content is different from access to Sérgio Miranda personally. Continuous platform access does not mean continuous human availability.

10. ACCESS Private Mentorship

Mr. Miranda Online may offer a limited Private Access, Private Support or Private Mentorship service.

This may include a higher level of:

  • direct interaction;

  • personalised educational guidance;

  • private or semi-private sessions;

  • individual planning;

  • marking or feedback;

  • progress monitoring;

  • parent communication; or

  • other support stated in the offer.

Private services are subject to availability and may be limited to a small number of students.

The exact format, frequency, subjects, duration, communication channels, response expectations and support boundaries are those stated on the relevant offer page or agreed in writing at enrolment.

Private Access or Mentorship does not create unlimited or continuously available access to Sérgio Miranda.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, unused calls, messages, feedback opportunities or other support entitlements do not accumulate indefinitely or transfer beyond the applicable service period.

Private Access or Mentorship does not guarantee any particular examination grade, academic result, school placement or university admission.

11. Subscriptions, Renewal and Cancellation

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the billing interval displayed at checkout, normally monthly, unless cancelled by the subscriber or not renewed by Mr. Miranda Online.

The subscription fee is charged using the payment method selected at checkout.

The account holder may cancel a recurring subscription:

  • through the subscription-management options provided by the platform; or

  • by contacting [email protected].

Cancellation must be requested before the next payment is processed.

Unless otherwise required by law:

  • cancellation prevents future renewal payments;

  • access normally continues until the end of the current paid period; and

  • cancellation does not normally create a proportional refund for the remaining days of a billing period already started.

Failure to use the platform, attend lessons, submit work or participate in the service does not automatically cancel a subscription.

Mr. Miranda Online may decide not to renew an ongoing subscription in accordance with Section 34.

12. Scheduled Annual Service Breaks

Mr. Miranda Online operates with scheduled annual service breaks totalling up to 21 calendar days during each calendar year.

These normally comprise:

  1. a winter break of up to seven calendar days falling substantially between Christmas and New Year; and

  2. one or more summer breaks totalling up to fourteen calendar days, with the timing selected by Mr. Miranda Online.

The precise summer dates are determined by Mr. Miranda Online according to personal, family and operational requirements.

The dates of scheduled breaks will be communicated through email, the platform, the community, the course dashboard or another reasonable communication channel. Wherever reasonably practicable, at least 30 calendar days’ notice will be provided for the summer break.

During a scheduled annual service break:

  • students will normally continue to have access to the platform and existing digital resources;

  • existing course content and recordings will normally remain available;

  • scheduled live lessons, calls, office hours and workshops will not take place;

  • marking, personalised feedback and progress reviews will be paused;

  • routine questions, emails and messages may not be monitored;

  • no particular response time will apply;

  • community moderation and administrative support may be delayed; and

  • SĂ©rgio Miranda may be entirely unavailable and offline.

Messages may still be submitted during a break but will be addressed after normal service resumes.

References in any offer to weekly live calls, weekly feedback, regular support or similar recurring human services apply only to active support weeks and exclude these scheduled breaks.

Scheduled annual service breaks form part of the disclosed service calendar and do not, by themselves, create an automatic entitlement to:

  • a refund;

  • a subscription credit;

  • an extension of the billing period;

  • replacement calls;

  • additional marking;

  • additional feedback; or

  • a pause in subscription billing.

This does not affect any specific written commitment in an offer or any mandatory consumer right.

Subscribers who do not wish their subscription to renew during or immediately before a scheduled break may cancel before the next renewal payment is processed.

13. Live Sessions, Calls and Human Support

Live sessions are provided only where included in the selected offer.

Session timetables, frequency, format, duration and group size may vary according to the offer.

Students are responsible for:

  • joining at the scheduled time;

  • using a suitable device and internet connection;

  • completing relevant preparation;

  • participating appropriately; and

  • checking timetable notifications.

A student who misses a live session is not automatically entitled to an individual replacement session, refund or credit.

Where practical, a recording or alternative resource may be made available, but this is not guaranteed unless included in the offer.

Mr. Miranda Online may reschedule a session where reasonably necessary because of illness, technical failure, professional obligations, safeguarding concerns or circumstances outside reasonable control.

Where Mr. Miranda Online cancels a material live service outside a scheduled annual break and does not provide a reasonable replacement, an appropriate alternative, credit or proportional remedy may be offered where required.

Live sessions may be recorded where participants have been informed. Recordings may be made available to other authorised students enrolled in the relevant service.

Students and parents must not independently record, copy, publish, share or redistribute live sessions without prior written permission.

Where a service is described as providing “24/7 access,” this means access to the relevant platform or digital resources, subject to technical availability. It does not mean 24-hour human monitoring, teaching or response availability.

14. Support and Response Times

Human support is limited to the scope of the selected offer.

Unless a specific response time is expressly promised:

  • no guaranteed response time applies;

  • questions may be answered in batches;

  • complex educational questions may be redirected to a lesson, group session or relevant resource;

  • repeated questions already answered in the platform may be referred back to the existing material; and

  • responses may be delayed during busy academic periods, weekends, public holidays, illness or scheduled annual service breaks.

Support channels may be restricted to those specified for the selected offer.

Messages sent through unofficial channels, personal social-media accounts or channels not included in the service may not receive a response.

Mr. Miranda Online may require questions to be submitted in a particular format, through a particular channel or within reasonable boundaries so that the service can be delivered effectively to all students.

15. Course Availability and Operational Timeline

Mr. Miranda Online is a growing educational platform.

Some courses, subjects, components, resources or features may be:

  • under development;

  • marked as coming soon;

  • released progressively;

  • subject to an operational timeline; or

  • available only in certain tiers.

At any given time, not every possible subject or resource may be fully available.

Estimated release dates are provided in good faith but may change where reasonably necessary to:

  • maintain educational quality;

  • correct errors;

  • improve structure;

  • respond to syllabus changes;

  • address technical limitations;

  • deal with illness or unexpected personal circumstances; or

  • respond to other legitimate operational constraints.

Where a future resource is material to a paid purchasing decision, its expected availability should be identified on the relevant offer page.

A material delay or non-delivery of a specifically purchased feature will be addressed in accordance with applicable consumer law and the circumstances of the particular offer.

16. Platform Evolution and Service Changes

Mr. Miranda Online is continuously developed and improved.

Course structures, lesson sequences, educational materials, dashboards, teaching methods, community areas and third-party integrations may evolve over time.

Mr. Miranda Online may make reasonable changes to:

  • correct errors;

  • improve educational quality;

  • update content;

  • reflect syllabus or examination changes;

  • improve usability;

  • replace obsolete technology;

  • protect security;

  • comply with legal requirements; or

  • adapt the service to operational needs.

Changes will not be used to remove mandatory consumer rights.

Where a change materially and adversely affects an ongoing paid subscription, Mr. Miranda Online will provide reasonable advance notice wherever practicable.

The account holder may cancel the subscription before a material change takes effect.

No material change will apply retrospectively to a completed paid period unless required by law or expressly accepted by the account holder.

17. Third-Party Platforms and Tools

Mr. Miranda Online uses or may link to third-party platforms and services, including Kajabi, Materact, Exam-Mate, Hodder Boost, payment processors, video-conferencing services, analytics tools and email providers.

These services are operated independently and are subject to their own:

  • terms of use;

  • privacy policies;

  • technical requirements;

  • account rules; and

  • availability.

Students may be required to create and maintain an account directly with a third-party provider.

Mr. Miranda Online does not control every aspect of a third-party platform and is not responsible for changes, interruptions or failures genuinely outside its reasonable control.

Where a third-party service forms a material part of a paid offer, Mr. Miranda Online will make reasonable efforts to:

  • restore access;

  • communicate relevant disruption;

  • provide a reasonable educational alternative; or

  • take other appropriate action.

Continued access to a third-party service cannot be guaranteed after the end of the Mr. Miranda Online subscription.

18. Materact

Some questions, exercises or learning activities may be delivered through Materact or a similar interactive learning platform.

Materact is a third-party educational service and is not operated by Mr. Miranda Online.

Students may be required to:

  • create their own Materact account;

  • accept Materact’s terms and privacy policy;

  • use an invitation or enrolment link; and

  • maintain accurate account information.

Continued access to Materact-based activities depends on the continued operation and availability of the Materact service.

If Materact substantially changes, interrupts or discontinues its service, Mr. Miranda Online will make reasonable efforts to provide an educational alternative where practical.

19. Exam-Mate and Affiliate Links

The platform may contain links to Exam-Mate or other external educational services.

Some links may be affiliate links. If a user purchases a third-party service through an affiliate link, Mr. Miranda Online may receive a commission or other benefit at no additional cost to the user.

Affiliate relationships do not alter the price paid unless expressly stated by the third-party provider.

Mr. Miranda Online recommends only tools believed to be educationally relevant but does not guarantee the third-party service or its continued availability.

Where a paid tier includes an Exam-Mate licence, school seat or similar third-party access:

  • the user must comply with the third party’s rules;

  • access is personal and may not be shared;

  • access may end when the relevant Mr. Miranda Online subscription ends; and

  • the seat may be withdrawn in cases of misuse or breach.

20. Payments and Billing

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers.

Mr. Miranda Online does not directly receive or store full payment-card details.

Prices, billing intervals and included features are displayed at checkout.

Prices include applicable taxes where legally required, unless otherwise stated.

The account holder is responsible for:

  • providing accurate billing information;

  • maintaining a valid payment method;

  • reviewing the price and billing interval before purchase; and

  • cancelling before the next renewal if the service is no longer required.

If a payment fails, Mr. Miranda Online may:

  • retry the payment;

  • request an alternative payment method;

  • temporarily restrict paid access; or

  • terminate the subscription if payment remains outstanding.

The customer remains responsible for valid charges incurred before cancellation or termination.

21. Consumer Right of Withdrawal

Consumers purchasing online may have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days, subject to the applicable rules and exceptions.

The withdrawal period normally begins on the date the contract is concluded.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, the consumer must communicate a clear decision to withdraw by emailing [email protected] or using the model form at the end of these Terms.

It is sufficient for the communication to be sent before the withdrawal period expires.

Immediate digital access

Many Mr. Miranda Online services provide digital content or platform access immediately after purchase.

Where the consumer expressly requests immediate access during the withdrawal period and provides the legally required consent and acknowledgement:

  • supply may begin immediately;

  • the right of withdrawal relating to digital content may be lost once supply begins where the legal requirements are satisfied; and

  • the consumer may be required to pay a proportional amount for services supplied before withdrawal where applicable.

A checkout box, statement or other consent mechanism may be used to record the consumer’s request for immediate access and acknowledgement of the relevant consequences.

Nothing in this section removes any right that cannot legally be waived.

22. Refunds, Credits and Unused Services

Except where required by law or expressly stated in an offer:

  • subscription payments are not refunded solely because the student did not use the platform;

  • missed live sessions do not automatically create a refund;

  • unsubmitted work does not create a refund;

  • unused feedback opportunities do not automatically accumulate;

  • cancellation does not normally produce a proportional refund for a billing period already started; and

  • scheduled annual service breaks do not automatically create a refund or credit.

Where Mr. Miranda Online ends a paid service before the end of a prepaid period for reasons other than a serious breach by the user, Mr. Miranda Online will normally either:

  • continue providing the relevant service until the end of the paid period; or

  • refund the amount reasonably attributable to the part of the service that will not be provided.

Where legally permitted, any refund calculation may take account of:

  • services already delivered;

  • digital content already supplied;

  • non-recoverable third-party licences;

  • platform seats already allocated;

  • physical goods already dispatched or delivered; and

  • other benefits already provided.

Any statutory rights relating to defective, non-conforming or incorrectly described content or services remain unaffected.

23. Textbooks, Licences and Physical Materials

Some paid offers may include a physical textbook, digital textbook, licence, platform seat or other third-party learning material.

The relevant offer page will identify what is included and any applicable delivery or activation arrangements.

Physical delivery may depend on:

  • the accuracy of the delivery address;

  • publisher or supplier availability;

  • postal or courier services;

  • customs requirements; and

  • geographical restrictions.

Users are responsible for providing accurate delivery and account information.

Digital licences and platform seats are personal and may not be transferred, resold or shared.

Where a licence or seat has been irrevocably allocated, its cost may be considered in any lawful refund calculation.

Nothing in this section restricts mandatory rights relating to physical goods, digital content or digital services.

24. User Accounts and Security

Users may need to create an account to access the platform.

Users must provide accurate and current information.

Accounts are personal and must not be:

  • shared;

  • sold;

  • transferred;

  • lent;

  • made available to several students; or

  • used by anyone other than the authorised user.

Users are responsible for keeping login details secure.

Any suspected unauthorised use should be reported promptly to [email protected].

Mr. Miranda Online may require a password reset or other security action where account misuse is suspected.

One purchase normally provides access for one student only, unless the relevant offer expressly states otherwise.

25. Student and Parent Responsibilities

Mr. Miranda Online provides structure, teaching, resources and support within the scope of the selected offer.

The student remains responsible for their own academic participation.

Students are expected to:

  • engage with the course;

  • attend included sessions;

  • complete appropriate practice;

  • submit work by relevant deadlines;

  • follow instructions;

  • revise consistently;

  • ask questions constructively;

  • behave respectfully; and

  • take increasing responsibility for their learning.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supporting appropriate participation without misrepresenting the student’s engagement or expecting Mr. Miranda Online to control factors outside the service.

Neither Mr. Miranda Online nor Sérgio Miranda can take responsibility for a student’s failure to:

  • attend;

  • practise;

  • revise;

  • complete work;

  • follow advice;

  • meet deadlines;

  • register for examinations; or

  • comply with school, examination-centre or university requirements.

26. Communication and Service Boundaries

Communication between Mr. Miranda Online, students and parents must remain respectful, proportionate and relevant to the service purchased.

Mr. Miranda Online welcomes legitimate questions, concerns and good-faith complaints.

However, an enrolment does not create unlimited access to Sérgio Miranda or an entitlement to:

  • immediate replies;

  • continuous personal availability;

  • repeated explanations outside the scope of the offer;

  • services not purchased;

  • unlimited marking or feedback;

  • changes to the educational method on demand;

  • guarantees of academic outcomes; or

  • responsibility for matters controlled by the student, parent, school or examination centre.

Mr. Miranda Online may reasonably:

  • redirect questions to existing resources;

  • consolidate repeated communications;

  • request that communication use a specified channel;

  • set communication hours or response boundaries;

  • decline to engage with repetitive or abusive correspondence;

  • require a parent or student to identify a specific concern and requested action; or

  • clarify which services are and are not included.

Exercising a legitimate consumer right or making a good-faith complaint will not, by itself, be treated as misconduct.

Repeated disregard of reasonable communication boundaries may lead to a warning, non-renewal, suspension or termination under Section 34.

27. Community Rules

Where community features are available, users must participate respectfully and constructively.

Users must not:

  • harass, insult, threaten or discriminate against others;

  • share offensive, inappropriate or unlawful material;

  • share another person’s private information;

  • record, copy or distribute community discussions without permission;

  • advertise unrelated products or services;

  • impersonate another person;

  • encourage cheating, plagiarism or academic dishonesty;

  • disrupt discussions or learning activities;

  • repeatedly post irrelevant or misleading material; or

  • use the community to contact other students inappropriately.

Mr. Miranda Online may moderate, edit, remove or restrict content where reasonably necessary.

Community access may be limited or removed without terminating access to unrelated course materials where appropriate.

During scheduled annual service breaks, community access may remain available, but moderation and responses may be delayed.

28. Academic Honesty

Students must use the platform honestly and responsibly.

Mr. Miranda Online does not support:

  • cheating;

  • plagiarism;

  • impersonation;

  • unauthorised collaboration in formal assessments;

  • submitting another person’s work;

  • obtaining unauthorised examination material;

  • misuse of mark schemes; or

  • using artificial intelligence to misrepresent work as independently completed.

Educational resources are provided to help students understand, practise and improve—not to bypass genuine academic work.

Mr. Miranda Online may refuse to assist with requests that appear to involve academic dishonesty.

Serious or repeated academic misconduct may result in suspension, termination or non-renewal.

29. Intellectual Property

All original videos, notes, explanations, diagrams, course structures, questions, worksheets, summaries, images, designs, recordings, written materials and other content provided by Mr. Miranda Online are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights.

Unless otherwise stated, materials belong to Sérgio Miranda, Mr. Miranda Online or an identified third-party rights holder.

Materials are provided for the authorised student’s personal educational use only.

Users must not, without prior written permission:

  • copy or reproduce materials beyond permitted personal use;

  • redistribute or publish them;

  • sell or sublicense them;

  • share downloads or account access;

  • upload them to another website or platform;

  • screen-record or systematically capture restricted content;

  • translate or adapt them for distribution;

  • use them to create competing educational products;

  • remove copyright or ownership notices;

  • train an artificial-intelligence system using them; or

  • use them commercially.

Downloading a resource through a function provided by the platform does not transfer ownership of the resource or grant redistribution rights.

Unauthorised use may result in termination and legal action.

30. G.H.O.S.T. B.U.S.T. Framework

The G.H.O.S.T. B.U.S.T. name, branded structure, terminology, original explanations, visual presentation and associated Mr. Miranda Online materials form part of an educational framework developed by Sérgio Miranda.

Students may use the framework personally as part of their own study.

The framework’s branded materials, original expression and protected content may not be:

  • reproduced;

  • repackaged;

  • published;

  • sold;

  • distributed;

  • presented as another person’s proprietary method; or

  • used commercially

without prior written permission.

Nothing in this section claims exclusive ownership over general educational principles, study habits or ideas that are not legally protectable.

31. No Academic Guarantee

Mr. Miranda Online is designed to support serious study and examination preparation.

Enrolment does not guarantee:

  • a particular grade;

  • an examination pass;

  • school progression;

  • university admission;

  • scholarship eligibility;

  • national qualification equivalence;

  • acceptance by an examination centre; or

  • any other academic outcome.

Results depend on factors beyond the platform’s control, including:

  • prior knowledge;

  • effort;

  • consistency;

  • attendance;

  • practice;

  • health;

  • motivation;

  • examination performance;

  • school provision;

  • examination-board requirements; and

  • decisions made by schools, universities, authorities or examination centres.

Testimonials, student results and examples describe individual experiences and do not guarantee equivalent results for another student.

32. Examination Registration and Official Requirements

Mr. Miranda Online is not an examination centre.

Students and parents are solely responsible for:

  • identifying a suitable examination centre;

  • registering for examinations;

  • selecting the correct syllabus and component codes;

  • meeting registration deadlines;

  • paying examination fees;

  • arranging access arrangements;

  • checking permitted equipment;

  • confirming practical or coursework requirements;

  • checking university-entry requirements; and

  • verifying national recognition or equivalence.

Mr. Miranda Online may provide general educational information but does not accept responsibility for official registration or admissions decisions.

Official information should be confirmed directly with the relevant examination board, examination centre, school, university or public authority.

33. Technical Requirements and Platform Availability

Students are responsible for having:

  • a stable internet connection;

  • a compatible device;

  • a working email address;

  • an up-to-date browser;

  • any required third-party accounts; and

  • suitable software for viewing videos, PDFs or interactive resources.

Mr. Miranda Online aims to maintain reasonable platform availability.

However, access may occasionally be interrupted because of:

  • maintenance;

  • updates;

  • hosting problems;

  • third-party outages;

  • internet failures;

  • cybersecurity incidents;

  • force majeure;

  • technical errors; or

  • circumstances beyond reasonable control.

Mr. Miranda Online is not responsible for problems caused solely by the user’s device, internet connection, browser settings, email filters or local network.

Where a material interruption affects a paid service, reasonable steps will be taken to restore access or provide an appropriate alternative.

Temporary interruption does not automatically create a refund unless required by law or the interruption materially deprives the user of the purchased service.

34. Artificial Intelligence Tools

Artificial-intelligence tools may be incorporated into learning activities, administrative workflows, support resources or third-party platforms.

AI-assisted material is intended to complement, not replace:

  • proper study;

  • independent reasoning;

  • teacher guidance;

  • official mark schemes;

  • syllabus documents; or

  • examination-board requirements.

AI-generated outputs may contain errors.

Students remain responsible for checking the accuracy, relevance and appropriateness of AI-assisted output.

Users must not use AI tools through the platform for cheating, plagiarism, impersonation or unlawful purposes.

Any processing of personal data through AI-assisted tools will be addressed in the Privacy Policy or relevant third-party information where applicable.

35. Data Protection and Privacy

Mr. Miranda Online processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.

Information processed may include:

  • names;

  • email addresses;

  • account information;

  • course enrolments;

  • payment and transaction records;

  • learning progress;

  • submitted work;

  • assessment information;

  • communications;

  • reports;

  • session attendance; and

  • other information reasonably needed to provide the selected service.

Higher-support offers may require additional educational information, such as learning needs, progress notes, submitted assessments, parent communications or meeting records.

Payment information is processed by third-party payment providers. Mr. Miranda Online does not directly receive or store full payment-card details.

Users may contact [email protected] regarding applicable data-protection rights.

Further information is available in the Privacy Policy.

36. Non-Renewal, Suspension and Termination

36.1 Non-renewal of an ongoing service

Mr. Miranda Online may decide not to renew a monthly subscription or other ongoing support relationship where, acting reasonably and in good faith, it determines that:

  • the service is no longer suitable for the student’s needs;

  • the expectations of the student, parent, guardian or account holder are materially incompatible with the nature, scope or educational approach of the service;

  • repeated demands are made for services, availability or outcomes not included in the selected offer;

  • reasonable communication or service boundaries cannot be maintained; or

  • the working relationship has broken down to such an extent that continuation is no longer reasonably practicable.

Reasonable written notice will be provided before the next renewal payment is taken.

The user will normally retain access until the end of the current paid period, and no further subscription payment will be collected.

Non-renewal is not necessarily a disciplinary measure and does not, by itself, imply wrongdoing by either party.

A non-renewal decision will not be based on a ground prohibited by applicable discrimination law.

36.2 Suspension or termination for breach or misconduct

Mr. Miranda Online may issue a warning, restrict access, suspend access or terminate an account where a student, parent, guardian, account holder or person acting on their behalf:

  • breaches these Terms;

  • violates community rules;

  • shares login credentials;

  • permits unauthorised account use;

  • misuses the platform or communication channels;

  • fails to make payment;

  • engages in abusive, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, unlawful or seriously disrespectful behaviour;

  • deliberately or repeatedly disrupts lessons, assessments, communities or services;

  • repeatedly disregards reasonable communication boundaries after written notice;

  • engages in fraud or impersonation;

  • attempts to copy, record, reproduce, resell or redistribute protected content;

  • creates a safeguarding concern;

  • causes or creates a material risk of harm to students, users, the platform or Mr. Miranda Online; or

  • otherwise commits a serious or repeated contractual breach.

The behaviour of a parent, guardian or other person acting for a student may be treated as behaviour associated with the student’s account.

36.3 Warning and opportunity to correct

Where an issue is capable of correction, Mr. Miranda Online will normally provide written notice describing the concern and a reasonable opportunity to correct it.

Repeated behaviour after a warning may result in suspension, termination or non-renewal.

Immediate suspension or termination may occur where reasonably necessary, including in cases involving:

  • threats;

  • harassment;

  • safeguarding concerns;

  • fraud;

  • unlawful conduct;

  • serious disruption;

  • unauthorised distribution of content; or

  • material risk to another person or the platform.

36.4 Effect on paid services

Where Mr. Miranda Online does not renew a subscription, access normally continues until the end of the paid period.

Where Mr. Miranda Online terminates a paid service early for reasons other than a serious breach by the user, it will normally either:

  • continue providing the service until the paid period ends; or

  • refund the amount reasonably attributable to the service that will not be provided.

Where termination results from serious breach or misconduct, no refund is automatically due, subject to mandatory consumer law and the circumstances of the case.

37. Changes to These Terms

Mr. Miranda Online may update these Terms for legitimate reasons, including:

  • changes to services;

  • changes to technology;

  • legal or regulatory requirements;

  • improved clarity;

  • security requirements; or

  • reasonable operational changes.

Updated Terms will be published with a revised “Last updated” date.

Material changes affecting an ongoing paid subscription will be communicated within a reasonable period before they take effect wherever practicable.

Material changes will not apply retrospectively to a completed paid period unless required by law or accepted by the account holder.

Where a material change substantially affects the service or the user’s contractual position, the user may cancel the subscription before the change takes effect.

Minor, administrative, clarifying or legally required changes may take effect when published.

Continued use alone will not be relied upon to remove mandatory rights or impose an unexpected material disadvantage retrospectively.

38. Complaints

Questions or complaints should first be sent to:

Email: [email protected]

The complaint should, where possible, identify:

  • the account holder;

  • the student;

  • the relevant offer;

  • the date of the issue;

  • the specific concern; and

  • the remedy or response requested.

Mr. Miranda Online will review complaints in good faith.

Response times may be affected by weekends, busy academic periods, illness and scheduled annual service breaks.

Consumers may also use the official Portuguese Electronic Complaints Book, where applicable.

39. Alternative Consumer Dispute Resolution

Consumers may be entitled to use an approved alternative consumer dispute-resolution entity.

For a business established in the Braga area, the generally relevant entity is:

CIAB – Tribunal Arbitral de Consumo
Website: www.ciab.pt
Email: [email protected]

The consumer may consult the official Portuguese consumer-authority information or the European Commission’s current list of approved consumer dispute-resolution bodies to identify the appropriate entity for a particular dispute.

Participation, competence and the binding effect of any procedure are governed by the applicable legal rules and the rules of the relevant entity.

Using an alternative dispute-resolution service does not remove any right of access to the courts where that right applies.

40. Liability

Mr. Miranda Online will provide services with reasonable care and in accordance with the selected offer.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability arising from intentional misconduct or gross negligence where it cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, Mr. Miranda Online is not responsible for:

  • indirect or unforeseeable losses;

  • loss arising from the student’s failure to engage with the service;

  • examination, school, university or authority decisions;

  • incorrect examination registration by the user;

  • problems caused solely by the user’s equipment or connection;

  • unauthorised use of an account caused by the user’s failure to protect login details;

  • independent third-party services outside reasonable control; or

  • business losses incurred by a person using a consumer educational service for commercial purposes.

Nothing in this section limits any statutory remedy available for non-conforming digital content, digital services, goods or educational services.

41. Events Outside Reasonable Control

Neither party is responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances genuinely outside reasonable control.

These may include:

  • serious illness;

  • family emergency;

  • natural disaster;

  • war;

  • civil disturbance;

  • government action;

  • epidemic or pandemic;

  • major power or internet failure;

  • cyberattack;

  • widespread platform failure;

  • transport disruption; or

  • failure of an essential third-party supplier.

The affected party should take reasonable steps to minimise disruption.

Where such an event materially prevents the delivery of a paid service for an extended period, the parties’ rights will be determined according to the circumstances and applicable law.

Scheduled annual service breaks under Section 12 are planned parts of the service calendar and are not treated as force majeure.

42. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal.

This choice of law does not deprive a consumer of mandatory protection provided by the law that would otherwise apply to them.

Any dispute will be submitted to the courts determined by applicable mandatory jurisdiction rules.

Where the parties may validly agree on jurisdiction, the competent Portuguese courts will have jurisdiction.

43. General Provisions

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

Failure by Mr. Miranda Online to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later.

The contractual relationship consists of:

  • these Terms;

  • the relevant offer page;

  • the checkout information;

  • the Privacy Policy;

  • applicable community rules; and

  • any specific written agreement made at enrolment.

Specific individually agreed written terms prevail over inconsistent general provisions, subject to mandatory law.

Headings are included for convenience and do not change the meaning of the provisions.
